BAMBOO (TRE) – “Symbol of health, happiness love and prosperity”
In Vietnam, we call BAMBOO as TRE – a remarkable eco-friendly resource and one of the fastest-growing plants on earth. TRE grown naturally in rural areas and scattered throughout Northen parts of Vietnam: Thanh Hoa, Son La, Yen Bai….Also, TRE is harvested one every 3-5 years and cultivated in highlands and delta areas, and can be produced a variety of beneficial handicraft Home products: bowls, trays, wall decoration, lampshades, lantern, mirrors, baskets….
In fact, our craftsmen who innovate and juggle this material and make handicrafts that have benefits and aesthetic value.
WATER HYACINTH – “An aquatic plant from the river”.
They are the most popular materials for home handicraft products due to its durability and beautiful brown color. It is a soft material that has been used many for handweaving rugs to create a comfortable feature as well as the beauty of the products.
EGG SHELL – ” Hope and Rebirth”.
Egg mosaics have a delicate and luxurious beauty, is a beautiful, unique and fancy products to make decorations in our living spaces. Egg shells can be applied in a wide range of homeware products: vases, bowls, trays, boxes, jars, plates … Lacquer is adorned and perspective with egg mosaics to create unique handicraft works, attractive to domestic and foreign customers. To get a lacquer product with eggshell mosaic, in addition to meticulousness and thoroughness in the process of making the products, it also requires a harmonious combination of artistic elements and the ingenuity of the craftsman’s hand. Starting from the material stage, it is the shell of chicken or duck eggs after hatching that have been peeled, collected, soaked and cleaned and then stirred on the pan & ready for the artisans to show the ability to arrange and color to create unique egg mosaic products.
COCONUT – ” The tree of life”.
To prevent coconut shells became waste, we use coconut shells to produce Home décor accessories: candles, lanterns, planters an many other uses like tableware products and pet accessories. Coconut items are made usually through 6 processes: Cutting, turning, drilling, drying, sanding and polishing. To get the most eco-friendly and durable products.
PALM LEAF– “A purely natural gift comes from the forest”.
All our individually handmade products with white patterns all crafted by palm leaf fiber. We selected this material then split, braid and hand-weave with traditional technique to ensure the fiber’s edges and surface are smooth and have beautiful color.
SEAGRASS – “The flowering plant grows in marine”.
Seagrass has another scientific name which is Cyperus. In Vietnam, sedge grows and is cultivated in the northern provinces from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa and along the coastal South Central provinces. The two mainly cultivated species are the white cotton sedge (Cyperus tegetiformis) and the brown cotton sedge (Cyperus corymbosus). Sedge is mainly used for sedge mat weaving and production of sedge handicrafts such as storage baskets, bags, sandals, hats and other popular items. To our artisans, this material is not only high-quality natural fiber to craft beautiful products but it is also the signature tree of their childhood
LEPIRONIA GRASS – “Genius of plants”.
Lepironia is a genus of the sedge family, comprising only one species, Lepironia articulata, known as the grey sedge. The plant has a hard lower stem, 8-10 mm in diameter, lives in mud, often grows in mangrove swamp areas such as Long An, Dong Thap, Ha Tien … where is well-known material due to its strength and softness.
